Brett Goldstein and Imogen Poots star in the new romantic drama, All of You. Apple Original Films acquired the movie written by Goldstein and William Bridges, who also directs the project, in December 2024. All of You originally made its world premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival and also premiered at the BFI London Film Festival that same year. A month ahead of its release, Entertainment Weekly exclusively shared the trailer for All of You.
This movie is Goldstein’s latest collaboration with Apple. Fans of Apple TV+’s Shrinking will know that Goldstein appeared in a guest-starring role in the comedy’s second season. Before stepping in front of the camera, though, he is Shrinking’s co-creator and executive producer. Plus, Goldstein became an Emmy Award winner for his work as co-executive producer, writer, and star on the sports comedy, Ted Lasso. Shrinking is set for a third season, and Ted Lasso will also return for a highly anticipated fourth season.

What Is All of You About?
Apple Original Films originally described All of You as the following:
“When an exciting new test matching soulmates together comes between two best friends, they spend the next twelve years trying to resist the urge to disrupt the paths their lives have taken — marriage, children and tragedy — despite the undeniable feeling they belong together.”
Now, the movie has a more extensive synopsis:
“Best friends since college, Simon and Laura drift apart when she takes a test that finds her soulmate despite years of unspoken feelings between them. Over the years, as their paths cross and diverge, neither can deny the feeling that they’ve missed out on a life together. Faced with the uncertainty of changing the course of their lives, are Simon and Laura willing to risk everything to experience the love that had been between them all along, or should they accept their fate? All of You explores whether one person can ever be your everything in this humorous and heart-wrenching romantic drama.”

Who Stars in All of You?
Golstein stars as Simon and Poots as Laura, as well as Steven Cree, Zawe Ashton, and Jenna Coleman. In the trailer, Simon reveals that he and Laura are best friends who have never taken their relationship to a romantic level. While Simon is resistant to taking the test that could reveal his soulmate but “takes all the fun parts out,” Laura takes the leap and meets Lucas. The trailer shows how Simon and Laura’s friendship (and their inability to express their feelings) push and pull against time.
Golstein told EW, “You don’t see them when they’re apart, so as an audience, you have to do some detective work every time there’s a time jump. It makes you automatically lean in because every new section that starts, you’re trying to figure out what you’ve missed, so it sort of engages people more.” In his Instagram post for the trailer, Goldstein wrote, in part, “Could not be prouder of this film.”

When Does All of You Release?
Just like the main characters’ relationship spans years, producers Goldstein and Bridges have been working on All of You for a decade. Over time, a short film became this feature film that marks Bridges’ directorial debut. The movie comes from MRC, with Ryder Picture Company’s Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett producing. Alexander Black and Jon Rosenberg are executive producers. All of You releases in select theaters and streams on Apple TV+ on Friday, September 26.

I was lucky enough to see this at its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and it was a great dramatic movie.
