We ask ourselves sometimes if we like procedurals because they tell great stories or if we use them as a reminder that we need to up our cardio game. Watching the Boston Blue teaser trailer, we can confidently say, it’s a mixture of both.
We’re a little over a month out until premiere week on CBS and there have been a lot of questions about what it is to come next for the network with their slate of shows – will we love them? Will we hate them? Time will tell.
In Boston Blue, we’re following Danny Reagan as he moves from the NYPD to the Boston Police Department. Sean Reagan has also moved to Boston, with his character description reading, “Sean committed himself to pursuing his family’s legacy but wanted to do so on his own terms, which meant joining a department outside of his hometown. Danny’s decision to stay in Boston gives this father and son duo a chance to reconnect on a deeper level.”
THE TEASER
With Danny and Sean moving to Boston, one has to wonder will any of the Reagan clan be making an appearance in Boston. We do know at least one will – Danny’s sister Erin. Will others? During the press conference for the series, producer Brandon Sonnier said, “We are a continuation of the Blue Bloods universe, which truly means we live in the same universe. You know … Boston and New York is only a three-hour drive. So it’s well within reason that folks from the city could make an appearance from time to time. That’s something we’re having fun playing with.”
In addition to the teaser, we know what the series premiere of Boston Blue will be about now. In the series premiere on October 17th, “NYPD detective Danny Reagan teams up with Boston detective Lena Silver to investigate a deadly fire at a tech company. As they dig deeper, they uncover a complex web of secrets involving facial recognition technology, family ties and a search for justice that brings the Silver and Reagan families closer together.”
The Boston Blue cast includes Donnie Wahlberg, Sonequa Martin-Green, Gloria Reuben, Ernie Hudson,Mika Amonsen, Maggie Lawson and Marcus Scribner.
