We’re definitely awaiting the fifth season of Emily In Paris. We have been waiting to see what has happened, if Emily will stay in Rome or Paris, and who she will choose. There are just so many questions that we have about all of the characters, their love lives, and where everyone is going to end up.
And we were okay with our ignorance on the subject. Ignorance is sometimes bliss. Especially when you have to wait, and since we have to wait, December feels so far off. Emily in Paris’ fifth season premieres December 18th, and apparently, what is happening is going to surprise us.
Star Lucien Laviscount, spoke with People and said, “All I’m gonna say is strap in. Because it goes left, so far left, and a little bit right this season.”
He continued, “I didn’t know what to expect — none of us do before we get the scripts — and we got the scripts for this season and it’s … Yeah, I don’t think anyone could have foreseen that coming.”
We definitely don’t mind surprises, but with Emily in Paris the surprises are only good if they steer towards our ship. However, when they steer away from that, we’re always scared.
The synopsis for the fifth season reads, “Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle, until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.”
Emily in Paris stars Lily Collins, Lucien Laviscount, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery and William Abadie, as well as Thalia Besson, Paul Forman and Arnaud Binard. Joining as recurring characters this season are Bryan Greenberg, Michèle Laroque, and Minnie Driver.
All 10 episodes of Emily In Paris drop on December 18th on Netflix.
