If 9-1-1: Nashville really wants to make this show interesting, someone will investigate Blue. According to the Nashville Fire Department government website, to do what Blue is doing, you would begin the selection process through several testing evaluation’s and a written examination before you become a fire recruit. Then you have a standard 13 week fire recruit training program.
And it’s not like Blue doesn’t have someone looking into him. It’s just that the person looking into him… is Blythe. She knows that Blue is a nepo firefighter and is fine with it (?). But at the moment she’s more concerned with what secrets Blue and his mother Dixie are hiding. Hence hiring an investigator and meeting in a park while looking great.
As for the POC characters, 9-1-1: Nashville does include more POC characters in the form of the Fire Chief Foster and a sorority sister. But those are two characters who aren’t regulars like Taylor and Roxi. So here’s hoping these two firefighters get some time to shine. If anything, it’ll help shake things up and pull attention away from the boring Blue of it all.
