Every week someone goes when it comes to Finding Mr. Christmas and it’s always hard for the contestants. This writer is not a person that likes rejection and who has way too much anxiety. So acting – not anything that I could do. But some of these guys don’t seem to be up to really want to learn from each other. I do love this show and I do think that it is hard to be on a competition show. But man, sometimes I think that these men are intentionally in their own way.
At least we got to learn a lot more about the guys. For instance – Craig admitted that he gets irritated when things aren’t perfect and he’s hard on himself. The reality is though it is really hard to care, because we really haven’t learned enough about the men of this show to care about them or be rooting for anyone.
Well except Robbie. I was always definitely rooting for him. And maybe a little bit Davey. Still not really loving Craig, but here we are. Yet he wasn’t bad in this at all. That pains me to say.
The festive face-off was a lot of fun. Davey won. The guys were in these big plastic balls and had to knock over trees. I thought it was a fun event, but the best part of it was the advantage. Davey got to be in the tent with Jonathan and Melissa so he could take the notes and learn from them.
The teams were split up and they had to perform a group scene with Hunter King. She offered them so much information and really let them all lead the way. While I thought that a few of the guys were not really that great, I wasn’t there for everything and so I know that there has to be something that we’re not seeing.
Because for instance, I thought Angel was stale. Marcus was overacting. Rustin relies too much on the fact he can sing and thinks that will carry him.
Rustin and Robbie ended up being in the bottom two and I felt that Rustin had to be the one going. He was struggling to fight for control with Robbie and I felt that he had caused the chaos. But I also felt that Rustin didn’t know how to share the scenes with others. He wanted all eyes on him and this being a party scene it can’t just be that way.
But ultimately, Rustin would stay.
I believe that had Robbie really stood up for his thoughts and directed that scene – things would have been different. However, what’s done is done and we know that everything happens for a reason. I do think that Robbie had more to give and I think that what he has to offer the world is a beautiful thing.
And I don’t think that this will be the last time that we see Robbie. The thing about him is that he’s been such a light in this whole contest. He’s been a man that has started to believe more and more in himself and watching him grow has been a reason that I, personally, have stayed invested.
I’ve never cried so hard over the ending of an episode as when they sent Robbie home. The way he told Jonathan that he was so thankful that he chose him and brought him there – Robbie, you had this writer ugly crying. I didn’t only cry because he was eliminated, but also because you could see that he would be missed.
There wasn’t anyone on the set that wasn’t affected by Robbie. He made a difference.
And for that – I will always be thankful that Finding Mr. Christmas exists.
I don’t think Robbie should have gone home. He acted exactly how Jonathan would have (if the script was written that way). I think Robbie is great and I kept thinking him and Jonathan should be in a Hallmark movie together.
