Looking forward to The Pitt Season 2? So are we. After one of the best first seasons we’ve seen in years, of what is almost surely the best medical drama since ER — and, let’s go ahead and say it, something that’s maybe even better than our longtime favorite — we’ve been missing this series since the second we finished the epic season finale. But what is Season 2 about, and when can you stream it on HBO Max?
Here’s everything we know.
Logline
From HBO Max: “THE PITT is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh.”
Are there any pictures?
Yes! HBO Max has released key art and first look photos for The Pitt Season 2. Check them out below!

Who is in the cast?
Good news, everyone. Almost everyone we know and love from Season 1 will be back for The Pitt Season 2. We also have a new attending!
Series star and executive producer Noah Wyle returns as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch. And, despite where the Season 1 finale left them, Patrick Ball and Katherine LaNasa are, thankfully, both back in action as Dr. Langdon and Dana Evans, respectively. Additional familiar faces will include Supriya Ganesh (Dr. Mohan), Fiona Dourif (Dr. McKay), Taylor Dearden (Dr. King), Isa Briones (Dr. Santos), Gerran Howell (Whitaker), and Shabana Azeez (Javadi). Sepideh Moafi, who will play Dr. Al-Hashimi, is a new series regular for Season 2.
Other credits of note (from the streamer): “THE PITT is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where JWP is under an overall deal. R. Scott Gemmill created THE PITT and executive produces the series alongside Emmy® winner John Wells (“Animal Kingdom,” “Shameless,” “The West Wing,” “ER”), Noah Wyle (“ER,” “The Librarian” franchise, “Falling Skies”), JWP’s Erin Jontow (“Emperor Of Ocean Park,” “Rescue: HI-Surf,” “Maid”), Joe Sachs (“ER”), Simran Baidwan (“Manifest,” “Ordinary Joe,” “The Good Doctor,” “Chicago Med”), and Michael Hissrich (“Shameless,” “The West Wing,” “Third Watch”).”
Trailer
HBO Max has released a couple of teasers and a full official trailer. The first teaser previewed a new shift/new season…
…and the second was a sneak peek of the opening moments of The Pitt Season 2 Episode 1.
In the trailer (below), Dr. Langdon returns to work, Dr. Robby is about to take some time off (and appears to have some, uh, differences of opinion with his replacement), and everyone’s just trying to get through a 4th of July shift…with a bit of a technological disaster in the middle of it all. Never a dull moment!
Release Date
The Pitt Season 2 premieres on Thursday, January 8 at 9:00 p.m. ET on HBO Max. New episodes will stream weekly, with the 15-episode season ending on Thursday, April 16.
Each new episode will be available to stream in American Sign Language (ASL) interpreted by James “Joey” Cavalry, Amelia Hensley, and Stephanie Nogueras, and directed by Sarah Tubert. Beginning December 21, you will be able to stream the Emmy-winning first season in ASL. In addition to the ASL team for Season 2, Jonaz McMillan also directed Season 1.
Is the Show Renewed for Season 3?
