It wasn’t the cast we envisioned, but it also seems like it may be the cast that we need. We’ve been waiting for years for any updated information on the live action adaptation of Tangled.
Today, we got that news.
Teagan Croft (Titans) and Milo Manheim (Zombies franchise) have landed the lead roles in Disney‘s live-action movie, playing Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, respectively.
It had been previously announced that Michael Gracey had boarded to direct the film and the script comes from Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. We’ll die on the hill that Robinson is a scriptwriting genius and therefore we know that this is going to be good.
Manheim will play, Eugene Fitzherbert AKA known as Flynn Rider is the son of King Edmund. His father had once ordered the city evacuated and that included Eugene. He never knew his heritage and spent a lot of his life in an orphanage, always imagining his parents would come back to get him. But how did he get the name Flynn Rider? He would read The Tales of Flynnigan Rider a lot. The more he reads it – the more he wants that life. It’s part of the reason that he became one of the most famous thieves.

Croft will play Rapunzel. Rapunzel was kidnapped as a baby and locked in a tower for 18 years. She’s known for her 70 foot long hair. Her magical hair. She is fascinated with gloating lights that appear each year on her birthday. It’s Flynn Rider that helps her out of the tower so that she can experience life.
We can’t wait to see who else is cast. This is going to be good. Tell us, who do you want to see play Mother Gothel?
