Sometimes it feels like everyone in the new generation of Hollywood stars knows each other and has known each other for a long time. It’s as if they all went to school together, or just everyone’s parents knew each other. Who knows. We’re just here all about everyone succeeding.
Who knowing who shocked us today? Well, that would be Grace Van Patten and Timothee Chalamet being close friends. The two went to the same performing arts high school in New York.
In speaking to Nylon Van Patten said, “Timmy is a good friend of mine. I was in the audience for all of his rap performances, which were incredible. I feel like such a proud mom for every person from LaGuardia that’s doing well. It gets me so pumped up.”
The interview took place at the Big 5 Sporting Goods in Studio City, as one does. We’ve been there a few times. The actress likes sports, finding her calling at LaGuardia Performing Arts school after she found out that they had a basketball team. She said that it was “a great escape from just acting for the rest of the day.”
She grew up with her father being a television director, and so she was around famous people a lot and which gave her perspective. She said, “The actors my dad had around that became really close to our family — like Edie Falco and James Gandolfini — these people who were very mega-famous, their number one priority was life and family first. So I do think being exposed to those types of people and artists made me want that. I saw all these people who were only in it for the art and not anything else.”
Van Patten is making the rounds as the next season of Tell Me Lies premieres January 13th on Hulu, with new episodes premiering every Tuesday until the season finale.
