9-1-1: Nashville Season 1 Episode 8 “All Hands” was the most that I’ve cared of this show. And it wasn’t because I bonded with the main firefighting characters. Nope. It had to do with all the firefighters working to get the hospital running again to save the babies and then give Sam a chance to save the mom. It’s stories like that of hope that people want to see. Now I need the show to shift that over and make me care for its actual core characters in the way they did with Cammie.

If anything, I only still really really care for Blythe. Her argument with her dad Edward was the kind that had me up on the couch going, “You don’t deserve to know anything!” Because Edward thinks he deserves to know things happening in Blythe’s life because he’s handing over the cash. And that right there is bordering on financial abuse. I said, what I said. So I’m glad that Blythe set her boundaries, said no, and made it clear that she wasn’t just sitting there waiting for Don. Blythe was out there doing her own thing while Don was with Dixie. Why? Because that’s what you do when you’re separated.

Talking about moving on, we need to talk about Cammie.
Firstly, I didn’t know that Cammie had it in her when she pepper sprayed the assistant. I was sure that the assistant had stabbed her or was holding her at knife point. Instead Cammie held her own. That right there, Cammie’s hidden dimensions is what I want to see more of when it comes to 9-1-1: Nashville. Because so far, everyone has been pretty flat when it comes to their characters, except Blythe and a little bit of Ryan there in the beginning.
Then there was that moment between Cammie and the FBI Agent in the call center and when she was crying in her car. Those were moments. And I can’t believe I’m saying this, eight episodes in, but I finally feel a spark to know something else about another character on this show. Because I love a second chance romance. And Cammie has clearly been alone for a long time. Maybe this her chance to move on and try something new. She deserves it and I would hope that her husband Mark would want that too.

KIMBERLY WILLIAMS-PAISLEY, COBY BELL
We need to finish off this review with the way that 9-1-1: Nashville started back in Episode 1: the Blue and Don of it all. Blue isn’t qualified to be a firefighter. Point blank period. And he needs more training. This isn’t about sins of the father (Don) or whatever Edward was saying. Blue shouldn’t be out on the field. If I’m not going to accept the baffonery with Hen over on 9-1-1 Season 9 Episode 8, what makes you think that I’m going to accept this on Nashville. Nope. So they might’ve tied it off with a pretty little bow in “All Hands” but I don’t buy it. He needs more training.
But at least Cammie has caught my eye and now has me interested in more than just Blythe. That’s improvement right?
