The finale of Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s The New Years is here. For those not in the know, this romantic drama series tells the Ana and Óscar from their first meeting, on the night they both turn thirty, through ten New Year’s Eves. Ten consecutive years, with each episode capturing a single night that reveals how love evolves, the series is an honest examination of modern commitment and choosing someone, year after year.
And now we’re at the finale.
In Episode 10, Ana and Óscar meet one last time in a hotel room in Madrid. They’re getting ready to return to their separate lives. But no matter what they do, or the secrets and difficult choices they keep, they still end up questioning if this is the right decision. That’s where our exclusive clip comes in.
In the clip from the finale episode, Ana is splintering. She’s distraught at the thought of them splitting up again. And she asks Óscar if he believes her when she says that he loves her. His answer is devastating. Because there’s love there. But he’s afraid that she’ll get tired of him, and eventually leave. That stops him from committing, from trying. And with their time together winding down, these moments together will either destroy them or keep them together.
