At long last, Bridgerton Season 4 Part 1 is here, which means the anticipation for Part 2 is, too. After those four episodes, the wait for more is going to be a month-long lesson in Benedict Bridgerton-level yearning. That feeling is only amplified by the trailer for Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2. In only a minute, Netflix and Shondaland have gifted fans a ton of teasers of what’s to come. While the first four episodes lean on the fairy-tale element, it seems like the last four episodes will face reality with the season’s leads.
This trailer, which differs from the one that follows the first four episodes on Netflix, comes after Yerin Ha cohosted Gold House’s inaugural Luna New Year Gold celebration with Heated Rivalry’s Hudson Williams. Additional cohosts included Bowen Yang (Actor, Wicked) Prabal Gurung (Designer, Author, and Activist), Eva Chen (VP of Fashion, Meta), Daniel Martin (Makeup Artist and Creative Director of Tatcha), Liam Oh (Actor, Boots), Melissa King (Chef and Author), Bach Mai (Designer), Kim Shui (Designer), Shirley and Walter Wang, Gloria Zhu and Stanley Tang, Joe and Christine Marchese, and Menardo Jiminez and family. The event also served as a kickoff to New York Fashion Week. It also featured a “Regency Lunar New Year” masquerade portrait lounge, inspired by Ha’s turn as Bridgerton Season 4’s leading lady.

What’s Next for Benedict and Sophie?
The trailer starts as most things do in Bridgerton – with Lady Whistledown. She says, “There are moments in our lives when we arrive at a crossroads.” It then cuts to Benedict and Sophie seemingly at a literal crossroads, as a carriage interrupts their eyeline in town. Benedict looks hurt when Sophie keeps her distance, telling him she hasn’t responded to his letter, “Because I do not wish to see you.” It’s presumed that this letter comes after Benedict’s well-intentioned but absolute fumble of…an offer in the mid-season episode.
It seems like Sophie will lean on Alfie, a standout from Bridgerton Season 4, Episode 2, “Time Transfixed,” in the aftermath of the offer to be Benedict’s mistress. At one point, Sophie tells her friend, “Being a mistress is the last thing I would ever want.” The trailer then cuts to Benedict asking, “How else am I to be with a woman society has made it impossible for me to be with?” That seems to confirm that Benedict really thinks his offer is the only way to be with Sophie. Meanwhile, Sophie is back to calling Benedict “Mr. Bridgerton,” signaling the class difference and the social distance between them.
However, that moment in the trailer when Sophie asks Benedict if he needs something, only for Benedict to say, “No. I found it,” is incredibly romantic. It feels like this season is channeling Henry Granville’s quote from Bridgerton Season 1, Episode 7, “Oceans Apart.” But the angst is still there – Sophie thinks Benedict doesn’t think about her, but he tells her he does “every moment of every day.” There’s a kiss! There’s Whistledown adding, “Two beings from opposing worlds. The desire is not the problem, but the world itself.”

Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2 Teases
There’s also the tease of Viscount Anthony and Viscountess Kate Bridgerton’s return – with their baby. There’s a short clip that provides some context for what role Anthony may play in the season. He tells Benedict, “You’ve convinced yourself that she’s reason enough to risk everything.” The trailer adds more context to what that “everything” is for Benedict, with Violet warning her son, “There is one sacrifice you will have to make – your family.” It’s really no wonder that Benedict declares, “I have had quite enough of the demands of society” towards the end of the trailer.
It’s also a little concerning that Francesca appears to be wearing all black in the background of that scene. At least two people have to die at some point in Bridgerton’s future for certain stories to be told. Not to mention, Episode 6 is titled “The Passing Winter,” and Episode 7 is titled “The Beyond.” It’s difficult not to be at least a little bit nervous when putting all that together. The mere speculation there could hold one over until Bridgerton returns with the final four episodes of the season at the end of the month.
There’s also a clip of Colin giving (it looks like) Gregory advice: “You must be brave. You cannot let fear stop you from letting your heart speak.” What’s not to love about a Bridgerton family scene? There’s also a clip of Violet and Marcus looking rather happy, Hazel saying there’s more to life than work, and Francesca & John and Will & Alice being rather cute. There’s a photo of the latter couple in the new batch of photos Netflix released. There isn’t one of Francesca and John, but there is one of John and his cousin Michaela. Needless to say, there is much to look forward to, Dear Reader.
