We watch a lot of TV and movies! So yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Best Scene of the Week

Raquel: The moment Morgan gives Elliot the freedom to decide what he wants to do—whether to go to that prestigious school or stay—in this week High Potential was truly special. I loved that Morgan spoke to him honestly, expressing her fear that the world would see him for what he can do, not for who he is, as had happened to her, and yet still giving him the option to choose what he wanted to do, what he thought was best. Morgan is brilliant at many things, and being a mother is one of them.
Ashley W.: The closing scene of Law & Order: SVU was so incredibly heartwarming. I loved seeing how Griff lit up when Avery left his hospital room hoping to see him. It was such a wholesome moment that made for a full-circle episode.
Ship of the Week

Raquel: Chenford! We didn’t see much of them on The Rookie this week, but I loved seeing Lucy showing Tim her phone and gesturing to him through the glass because she was too mad with him to go inside. They’re so cute!!
Miah: UPSTEAD. After everything, they are still them. Halstead is still absolutely in love with Hailey (I mean he is heart-eyed Halstead for a reason), and Hailey is pissed (rightfully so) but she absolutely still cares. Running off into the sunset by the end of the crossover would have been unrealistic. The progression of working the case to protect each other, walking on eggshells and then eventually giving in and opening the door was fully authentic to their characters and their relationship.
That final moment where Halstead was being vulnerable and open in his apology was perfect, showing us he truly has changed and come back as the true Jay- also, LOVE the grovelling. Also, him not caring about his flight time: YEARNER ELITE. In the end, they did the “thing that works” and it was the start of a new beginning and hope for them. It just proves that no matter what happens, they are tethered and their foundation is strong – the care is still there and it might just be enough to move past the past.
Best Performance of the Week

Miah: Tracy Spiridakos gave us EVERYTHING as Hailey MF Upton. She dominated the One Chicago crossover this week. From portraying her own character’s growth and evolution, to playing into the characters past relationships, the performance felt authentic and genuine. She hustled, taking charge as an FBI agent and being badass, but she was still her kind and caring self. The FBI has taken a lot of the Voight effect away from her work, and for that we are thankful, especially, because she herself recognizes that Voight isn’t her job.
Spiridakos also did an amazing job at keeping her character’s care for her ex-husband restrained, letting it slip through in subtle moments, and throwing sass and the cold shoulder exactly where necessary (the driving scenes: Chef’s Kiss). Honestly, a couple of times, Hailey hit Jay with the fact that he is not her partner more than once, and the pained expression on his face was BRILLIANT (hit em again Hailey, hit em again). Overall, a masterclass of complex emotions, relationships, and a heavy case lead to the best One Chicago performance ever.
Ashley W.: Corey Cott, the actor you are! I’ve known how great of an actor Corey is for years thanks to Broadway (Bandstand forever!), but I’m glad more people now know that, too, thanks to the latest episode of Law & Order: SVU. He finally got to bring a depth and emotion to Griff that the character hasn’t had a chance to show before. Understandably, a lot of people aren’t fond of or have any reason to like Griff since he joined the squad. But now, with this latest case, Corey does a great job at giving Griff a softness and humanity that makes you want to root for him.
Moment that Annoyed Us This Week

Raquel: Grey and Luna’s breakup on ABC‘s The Rookie. While we can understand where it’s coming from, we feel it’s out of character for Luna to act this way.
Quote of the Week

Raquel: “I kent a piece of myself would be inside you forever, ’cause i was giving you a child” — Jamie to Claire in this week’s Outlander.
Miah: “What time is your flight?” “I don’t care.” – Hailey Upton and Jay Halstead, Chicago P.D.
