While we’re not always the biggest on reboots, we can appreciate them. Selfishly, sometimes that is because we miss the show that was our comfort show at one time. One of those reboots that we’d love to see? Well that would be One Tree Hill. The show was appointment television growing up.
It’s a show that we would love to see a reboot happen for, but also one that we wouldn’t be sad over not happening. Why? Because we’re lucky that it even happened at all – once.
With news of the possible reboot happening in the past few years, we’ve tried to patiently wait. Luckily it is awards season and people are asking the tough questions, like what is happening with the reboot, for us.
This past weekend at the 34th Annual Elton John Aids Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party in Los Angeles, Entertainment Tonight asked Sophia Bush about the reboot possibility. They got us a status update.
“You know, we have done such great work, and its been really incredible to see the way every single person in our cast got excited about that phone call, had amazing ideas about where their characters would be, what stories they’d want to explore…” Sophia Bush answered.
Bush then continued, “I would say that we’re all very aware of what’s happening to media right now and who media is being bought by, and I don’t know that any of us are the current media conglomerate’s best friends or favorite people, but I’m okay with that. I’m patient, if nothing else.”
She then added, “That was the classiest way I can say it.”
We’ve got a lot of mixed feelings about this, but in the best way. It’s not everything that can leave a fandom this passionate after so much time.
We don’t know what will happen and though it doesn’t feel like anything is happening or will happen, we’re holding out hope.
