We’ve been waiting for more information on Legally Blonde 3. Now, there has been a long period of time where we didn’t worry about it so much, because we were so concentrated on Elle.
Reese Witherspoon was asked about a third Legally Blonde movie. Now that the first season of Elle has filmed, we’re excited that the questions about the third Legally Blonde movie are being asked and if it is still is happening Reese said, “Absolutely. It’s a whole world that we want to build with this character. Not dissimilar to what happened with Barbie two summers ago, there’s a feeling that women want to rally around these characters that were part of their childhood and celebrate the idea that Elle Woods is more than the color pink. She’s part of your identity of self-worth and accomplishment.”
She also spoke to Bustle about the impact that the first movie had and how it still influences people today, “I had no idea. We worked really hard on the messaging. I was determined to make sure it was a story about a woman that wasn’t about her romantic relationships. It was about how she worked hard to accomplish something very difficult on her own terms, and no relationship would define her early 20s like that.”
Reading that the third movie is still happening makes us happy. Legally Blonde is a part of our lives – a big part. We miss it and will be looking forward to the third one.
