We watch a lot of TV and movies! So yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Best Scene of the Week

Raquel: This week’s Outlander family scene. We see very few of these, and even fewer that involve Fersali. And seeing Brianna and Roger with them, as siblings, was beautiful.
Gissane: This was such a strong week, truly. But Paul telling Gaby she’s his legacy on Shrinking makes for such a special and monumental moment. It’s been a long time coming and both Harrison Ford and Jessica Williams brought their A-game throughout.
Lyra: The montage at the end of 9-1-1 “Pick Your Poison” after Buck opened up about his addiction. He’s always been very “I’m going to figure it out myself.” And to see everyone coming to help, whether to sit with him during the long nights or hold his hand when need be, that’s family. Also especially loved the camera work with Oliver Stark sitting on the couch and everything moving fast around him. It really emphasized his loneliness and then contradicted it right then and there with the people that didn’t give up on him. Because familyyyy.
Ashley T.: Gosh, if I’ve got to pick one scene, it would be Mr. Charles’ entrance into Mayor Kingpin’s office in Daredevil: Born Again season 2 episode 1 “The Northern Star.” Matthew Lillard is absolutely wonderful at playing slightly unhinged folks who don’t give a hoot about anything. The show of power he gives in front of Kingpin, and his utterly flippant attitude, definitely caught Wilson Fisk off-guard, and it’s no small thing to catch him off-guard. It’s such a treat to have him in this show!
Ashley W.: I loved the closing scene of the Daredevil: Born Again season 2 premiere. Seeing how Matt’s trauma came to the forefront and distracted him in his fight against the ATVF was brilliantly done. There was so much emotion, from Matt hearing Cherry’s heartbeat to Matt then thinking of Foggy’s death. Not to mention the sheer panic of Daredevil’s identity being revealed only for Bullseye to save the day?! A fantastic ending that really hit the mark—pun intended.
Ship of the Week

Gissane: This one’s so hard this week when we had Morgadec in High Potential, Buddie bits in 9-1-1 on ABC, and John and Carolyn in Love Story. But like given it’s the last time we’ll be seeing them, I have to go with John and Carolyn. Watching them go back to the beginning of the story and fall in love all over again before the tragedy strikes gave us the kind of scenes I’m going to be thinking about for a long, long time.
Shana: I’m interpreting “ship” loosely here because I don’t see it as romantic at all, but Aleida and Margo on For All Mankind. It’s so, so, so, so, so comforting to have them back. And their hands!
Aracelis: As much as Missy and Spider breaking up annoyed me this season of Heartbreak High, Malakai and Amerie ending up together erased all of that — goodbye! I was heartbroken at the end of Season 2 when his letter got burned, and honestly when I saw Amerie with Noah, I thought there goes my endgame. But sorry (not sorry) to Noah, because those two breaking up was exactly what needed to happen. Amerie running back to Malakai at the end was perfection and truly made me satisfied with their ending.
I would have loved to see more, but in some ways we did, and them ending up together is enough. I really enjoyed their longing this season, even if some of it wasn’t intentional. Malakai and Amerie will always find their way back to each other, and that was shown so well this season. No matter the arguments, problems, or distance, Malakai would do anything for Amerie, and Amerie will always love Malakai. So long, Malakai and Amerie, we hardly knew you!
Ashley T.: Karen and Matt are kicking off Daredevil: Born Again season 2 by getting back together, say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat??? I can’t say I saw that coming, but I am also glad to see it. This will play out interestingly depending on who else might show up in this season. <cough>Frank Castle</cough>
Ashley W.: How could I pick any other ship but Chenford when The Rookie ended with Lucy kissing Tim’s bruises?
Raquel: I completely agree with Gissane and Ashley W. about Morgadec and Chenford! But if I had to pick one this week, it would be Morgadec. I mean, he almost died in her arms, and the first thing he sees at the hospital is her even though Morgan isn’t there yet? Yeah, that’s my kind of ship.
Best Performance of the Week

Raquel: Bridget Regan on The Rookie. Monica is a dark character. She’s cold and manipulative. She’s evil. But this week the show revealed her vulnerability. She truly loved Wesley, and he broke her heart. This time, she wasn’t seeking revenge, but justice. She got it and did the right thing.
Gissane: Another impossible choice this week, but it’s coming for Love Story again. Sarah Pidgeon, Paul Anthony Kelly, Grace Gummer, and Constance Zimmer all wrecked me. I can’t even write this without choking up. There’s no doubt in my mind that after this finale, the Emmy is locked in for our leads, and now I need Grace Gummer to get that supporting, too. Honorable Mention: Oliver Stark also made me weep this week.
Lyra: Oliver Stark absolutely broke our hearts with his performance in 9-1-1 “Pick Your Poison.” His portrayal of Buck going through withdrawal and then asking for help felt honest, scary, and oh so real. The emotion shining through his eyes and the way that he gave himself over to every moment, from his desperation to his pain, was the best acting he’s ever done on this show. In fact, it’s probably the first time I’ve cried on 9-1-1 in ages. Well, since Bobby’s death. Just a stellar performance.
Aracelis: Pretty Lethal was one of my most anticipated watches, and the cast did not disappoint, especially Maddie Ziegler. I’ve been on the Maddie Ziegler acting train since Fall Out, and I didn’t think it was possible, but she outdid herself in this movie. I will say the plot was a little underwhelming, but the cast was stacked, and Maddie’s performance really stood out. The scene where she talks about peeling her nails off, putting on a smile, and dancing because she’s a “ballet f***ing rina”? That alone solidified it for me. She completely committed to the role, and it showed in every moment.
Shana: Kaori Sakamoto’s final two competitive programs at the World Championships in figure skating. What an honor it was to get to watch that wonderful blend of athleticism and artistry of hers. Personal best combined score, personal best free skate score, broke the record for the highest program components score for any woman in both the short and the free, fourth World title… What a way to go out for someone who will easily go down in history as one of the greatest of all time. (I still think we should all refuse to let her leave us, though.)
Honorable/actually TV-related mention: Katherine LaNasa in The Pitt Season 2 Episode 12. She’s always a highlight, but this week…wow.
Jasmine: I’m going to keep saying it because it’s true. Tamara Tunie as Anita Dupree on Beyond the Gates. Anita is currently undergoing chemotherapy for triple negative breast cancer. The treatment has gotten more aggressive and this round took her down to the point she was ready to stop treatment and sign a Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) form. Watching Tamara play all of those beats had me in tears for two days worth of episodes. Her portrayal of everything Anita is going through is incredibly raw and so emotional.
Moment that Annoyed Us This Week

Gissane: Jimmy’s dad on Shrinking really struck a nerve when he chose fishing over attending Alice’s graduation.
Lyra: Jane Don’t being eliminated in this week’s RuPaul’s Drag Race makes no sense. She was the clear frontrunner to the point where it took some of the mystery out of the season because she was so good. And it felt like she would go all the way. But color me surprised when she was eliminated. Especially because she was A) eliminated on a mid episode and B) had the best track record and was eliminated after one bad episode? Come on! You had Discord and Kenya on for multiple episodes when they should’ve been booted ages ago. Make it make sense.
Aracelis: I was so happy to see Heartbreak High back on my screen, and even more let down when Missy and Spider broke up. I actually really enjoyed their relationship in Season 2 and thought Spider had finally found someone, he even lowkey changed for Missy. But I seriously have no words to explain why they broke up. Logically, it’s right there in front of me, but realistically it just didn’t feel necessary. Their relationship felt so short-lived, and I was honestly annoyed to see it go. They had so much potential, and considering this was the final season, it broke my heart to see it end like that.
Jeanette: Hello! I’m turning this into a RuPaul’s Drag Race (Lyra is in it, too) support group because I need it to be. If you’re a Drag Race fan, then you probably already know that Jane Don’t—Season 18’s frontrunner—was eliminated Friday night. Why? Truly, I couldn’t tell you. Despite multiple wins and remaining in the top every single week (besides one), her first big stumble resulted in an elimination. I don’t generally like reality TV, but Drag Race is the exception. However, Season 18 has felt orchestrated and manipulated from the beginning. Jane’s elimination was the terrible cherry on top. I’m not just annoyed. I’m devastated.
Ashley T.: What the actual heck, cancelling Star Trek: Starfleet Academy after an incredible first season and an already completed second season? I don’t claim to understand what happens up at the top of these studios, but this just feels like a punch to the gut. Consider me a little more than annoyed.
Shana: Ellis talking about how he loves Jessica and blahblah shouldn’t have to choose between her and his best friend (Max) on Wild Cards. I’m so beyond sick and tired of this third wheel girlfriend storyline. It’s been done to death on similar shows, and this man has put his foot in his mouth way too many times this season. Just stop talking, Detective. Stand there, look pretty, and catch a clue about how you’re making Max feel. I’m tired AF.
Ashley W.: I don’t know if anyone ever liked Heather in Daredevil: Born Again, but I can’t imagine anyone does now after what she did to Jack Duquesne. I understand that she is still very traumatized by what she went through with Muse, and it’s more than valid that she’s still affected by it. But she’s disrespecting mental health professionals by selling out to Fisk instead of serving people in need. It’s not entirely surprising given the fact she already had an anti-vigilante demeanor, but it’s still annoying.
Jasmine: The news that CBS canceled Watson. It’s such a great show. The cast is amazing and every week is better than the last. I knew when they moved the time slot it would affect the show. These cancellations of shows viewers enjoy is the reason so many people don’t want to commit to new shows!
