Chicago Med Season 11, Episode 16 ‘The Book of Charles’ will be very different from the last episode. This time, Dr. Charles really takes center stage. The whole episode—basically the full 40 minutes—will be about him, which finally gives us the chance to understand him a bit better.
Because if you stop and think about it, he’s been there since day one… and yet sometimes it feels like we don’t really know him. He’s had moments, sure. A storyline here, another there. This season, for example, he showed up for his friends when they needed him. Last season, it was his daughter.
There’s always more, of course. We could learn more. We want to learn more.
Which is wild, honestly. After all this time, it felt overdue to dig deeper into who he actually is. And then there’s the mental health angle. Medical dramas don’t usually spend much time there—not really. Brilliant Minds does, though. It actually leans into it in a way most shows don’t, and that alone already sets it apart. So, having an episode focused on Charles, which explores the character in depth and gives mental health the importance it deserves, feels like a victory for us.
