When we talk fandom, we will always include The Vampire Diaries and its spin-offs as part of the fandom that shaped us. We will forever reflect on the series and all of the fond memories that it gave us. And continues to give us.
We’re so excited that two of our favorites – Candice King and Steven Krueger are married! The
“We circled around each other for years as we both lived in Atlanta and worked on The Vampire Diaries and The Originals,” Steven said in the Vogue spread about their intimate wedding, “We like to joke that we were probably in the same room a dozen times and never noticed each other… Suddenly, it was this instant mutual feeling of: ‘Hi, where the hell have you been.’ Invisible string theory at its finest.”
The two got engaged in 2025 and the Vogue article talks about how Steven proposed.
If you follow Candice on Instagram you may know that she bought a 100 year old house in Nashville. She’s spent a lot of time and money revamping the house and making it a home for her, Steven, and her kids.
PROPOSAL
Steven did propose to her at their house after a long day of cleaning up after the worst storm that Nashville has seen in decades. Steven and Candice had spent hours pumping water out of their basement that day, and even though it wasn’t the proposal that he had planned, it was perfect for them.
Candice said, “I love that he asked me to marry him in what has become our 100-year-old house here in Nashville. I love that our love story is one that gets to be woven into it. And, it really goes to show that not only can we weather the historic storms together, but we can turn them into part of our adventure together.”
WEDDING BLISS
The two were married in intimate wedding at The Chapel at High Point Farm and the reception happened at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse.
Who officiated their wedding? Well that would be one of their mutual best friends, Carina MacKenzie, who flew in to officiate for them.
These two are just so cute and we’re so happy for them. Congratulations to the happy couple!
