Fully aware I am late on this one, but you know – sometimes Dramabox’s algorithm gives you the titles you need to escape with long after they’ve come out. With verticals, news series are turned out at a rapid pace and it is very hard to keep up. So, we’ll cut ourselves a break and realize that Infertile Alpha’s Pregnant Wife came to us at a moment that I needed it.
Halle Fletcher is an actress that we’ve recently become familiar with. Her verticals – Tempted By The Wrong Brother and Life Is Not A Game are two of our favorites. She’s shown that she can hold the screen against some of verticals most sought after actors.
And so when her first verticle – Infertile Alpha’s Pregnant Wife – came up on my suggested watches, I pressed play. The premise is, “She cures his inability to have children. In return, he gives her boundless love and endless spoiling.”
Starring opposite Michael Joseph Nelson as Alpha Logan, Fletchers character of Mira is an omega. She’s frequently called a wolfless orphan and believes that about herself. Mira works a lot of jobs, and one being in a hotel. She’s being beaten up because she is trying to resist being sold off, when the alpha intervenes. He punishes those that are hurting her and tells the hotel manager to watch out for his employees.
However, the manager is money hungry. The Alpha’s Mom has put out a reward for anyone that can bed her son, and even higher reward for anyone that can get pregnant from the interaction. The Alpha is cursed and is supposed to be infertile.
Now, the alpha doesn’t seem to care about that reward when Mira is tied up, blindfolded, and waiting for him under a silk sheet in his room. He gladly takes her virginity and then the next morning turns as cold as ice.
I am confused by his actions – how he calls her a whore and says that she’s there strictly for the million. Look, I can understand why it is that he may think that, but also when she’s trying to explain, maybe you shut your mouth and listen? He won’t listen to her though. Instead he demeans her more, leaving her broken and regretting giving up her virginity.
But fast forward two months and she’s pregnant. He’s the only person that she has slept with, but after their final interaction, she’s not going to tell him about her pregnancy. The hotel manager will though. He wants money and goes to the Alpha to get it.
Yet, the Alpha doesn’t believe that he’s the father and instead believes that she slept around. That is until the manager accidentally lets it be known that he drugged Mira. All of the sudden he believes that the baby is his, that she was innocent and wants to protect her.
I am an independent woman, but if there is a man that wants to take care of me – I am not above it. Especially if that man is someone who will treat me like the queen that I am. Mira, she’s definitely in need of a new life and one where she is treats like a queen. Her Mom and sister are just the worst human beings ever.
I mean werewolves. They are worst kind of werewolves. They want to punish Mira for existing, but that’s not her fault. She didn’t ask to be born. Everyone seems to take joy in torturing her and all she wants to do is be kind.
But it’s her doubt in herself that keeps getting in the way. She doesn’t get why everyone wants to kill her, but that’s just a testament to her sweet and pure heart. She’s knocked down, time and time again, but she keeps getting back up.
No matter what happens.
Mira has been through so much and she’s having a hard time adjusting to anything and everything in her new life. Series of miscommunications, kidnappings, and doubts leave her wondering if she is worth it. What she doesn’t realize is that she shouldn’t be judging herself that way.
Alpha Logan doesn’t tend to worry about himself. Instead what he’s worried about is his child and Mira. He’s willing to sacrifice himself if need be. A man that wasn’t supposed to be able to have children, who was cold and closed off, is now open to finding love and letting people in.
He’s not closed off.
He’s not distant.
The whole damsel in distress isn’t what Mira wants to be. Logan and her bring out the best in each other. They make sure that they are bringing each other into the light and to find that there is hope and the past doesn’t have to define you.
Through the ups and the downs of their relationship – well Logan and Mira’s – it is filled with angst and romance and ups and downs. Whatever it takes, they will find their way.
Love is a blessing and wins in the end.
And babies – well, they are a blessing too.
