Netflix seems to be going full steam ahead with the remake of 13 Going On 30. We’d love to be excited about it – but the original was so iconic that it doesn’t feel right remaking it. Even if the remake does star Emily Bader and Logan Lerman.
After all those two are stars – two stars that we adore. It kinds feels like we’ve grown up with Logan Lerman and we adore Emily Bader. They are stepping into roles that Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo killed it at.
There has been an addition to the cast – Adeline Rudolph (Mortal Kombat II) has joined the cast. Rudolph’s role, and the sequel’s logline, are being kept under wraps.
13 Going on 30 centers around a 13-year-old girl who wakes up as her 30 year old self, and must figure out how to navigate adulthood and discover who she is.
Brett Haley, the director of Netflix’s hit rom-com People We Meet on Vacation, is set to direct from a script by Hannah Marks (Mark, Mary, & Some Other People) with revisions from Flora Greeson (The Princess Diaries 3).
Production is due to begin this month.
