We watch a lot of TV and movies! So yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Best Scene of the Week

Raquel: Oliver cradling a baby while Josh looked at him from a distance on this week’s Brilliant Minds. It’s the moment Josh realizes he can have everything he wants with Oliver…and only his fear is holding him to do so.
Rachel: The final news sequence of Disclosure Day has been in my head since I saw it. This film deserves so much credit for knowing exactly where it was headed with its message.
All of Steven Spielberg’s alien films are essentially about broken families, and in this film, that family is the human race itself. With things the way they are in the world today, it was downright bold to depict uniting humanity, not through fighting together against annihilation, but through empathy.
Jasmine: When Lestat froze the audience at his show so he could float up to Louis and sing to him on The Vampire Lestat Episode 1×03. It was one of those moments that is a perfect definition of “we were the only two people in the room.” Lestat is performing for an audience but even still, all he could see was Louis.
Erin: I rewatched Every Year After. I know that a lot of people are torn on this show, but I loved it. I think that we all think that adaptations need to be the book, but I believe that they did a great job making the story come to life. Changes are always going to be made – especially for a TV adaptation.
Ship of the Week

Rachel: I’m going with Jill and Wes in Voicemails for Isabelle. Zoey Deutch and Nick Robinson had great chemistry and created likeable individual characters, too, even when the film gave them less-than-palatable material.
Jasmine: Yes I know they’re chaotic and dysfunctional but I’m going with Loustat on The Vampire Lestat Episode 1×03. Anytime I get to see them together even if they’re arguing about Lestat needing to pay Louis damages for destroying part of his hotel.
That scene was hilarious simply because Louis maintained his cool while Lestat was being his bratty jealous self. Then of course I loved the little snarky serenade he gave to Louis at his show. There’s still love there from both of them whether they will admit it or not.
Lizzie: I was actually reluctantly charmed by Voicemails for Isabelle, even though it started out so sad. I think it was a really charming movie and the leads had really great chemistry.
Erin: I loved Voicemails for Isabelle and I shipped the main characters so hard. They had such great and effortless chemistry. It was beautiful.
Best Performance of the Week

Rachel: I have to say how good Emily Blunt was in Disclosure Day, but I also want to add to all the praise for Courtney Grace, who plays the NBC news anchor in the final sequence of the film. That ending works as well as it does in part because of her and the way she’s sort of the audience’s mouthpiece through it all.
Jasmine: Going with Colby Nixon from Beyond the Gates. Her performance all week in the aftermath of the tornado was incredible. The way she showcased Kat’s shock over what she witnessed while stuck in the stairwell with her half sister Eva.
And then the fear, turmoil, and anger over everyone expecting her to just go get tested to see if she could donate a piece of her liver to Eva who was critically injured. Kat’s reaction was understandable. She has a rocky relationship with Eva. It was not an easy decision for her to make and nobody seemed to care how she felt. Colby played all of those beats very well.
Lizzie: Again, Connor Storrie didn’t have much to do this week, but he does so much with a little bit in this hour. That scream at the end of the episode of Criminal Minds: Evolution will haunt me.
Moment that Annoyed Us This Week

Raquel: It’s a small thing, but it bothered me that Charlie wasn’t at the family dinner at Oliver’s house that we saw in Brilliant Minds. Everyone was there… and Charlie earned his place at that table after everything that happened.
Quote of the Week

Raquel: “Why did I say his name after what happened in that chamber?” “Because you love him.” – Josh and Silva in NBC’s Brilliant Minds.
Rachel: “Listen.”– Disclosure Day
Jasmine: “I lived 54,554 days before I met Louis de Pointe du Lac!” – The Vampire Lestat.
