When it comes to shows that we’re looking forward to coming back, We Were Liars is in the top three. And if we’re being honest, it’s because Carina MacKenzie and Julie Plec lead the show, and those two are geniuses.
The second season of the hit Prime Video show is currently in production, and that means casting. Riley Voelkel, Madeleine Arthur, Jaelynn Thora Brooks, Layla Douglas, Callan Potter, Aidan Shaw, Shaun Sipos, and Brendon Tremblay have all been added as recurring.
Emerson MacNeil will return in the recurring role of Bonnie, Manaia Wall as Liberty, Andrew Moodie as Thatcher, Brady Doulis as Will, Charlie Carrick as Sam, and Dylan Bruce as Brody Sheffield.
In season 2 of the hit show, Cadence returns to Beechwood and digs deeper into family secrets. She learns about the Sinclair sisters’ summer of 1999 – a summer filled with intrigue, rivalry, chaos, and even murder. The Sinclair sisters must face their past. We can’t wait to see how that unfolds.

Riley Voelkel steps into the role of Adult Yardley, the Sinclair cousin who has been exiled from the family but is back at Beechwood—and she’s not returning quietly. Elegant, magnetic, and carrying plenty of unresolved history, Yardley looks ready to stir the pot. We can’t wait to see what trouble she causes… or just how much chaos she’s about to unleash.
Madeleine Arthur plays the younger version of Yardley, appearing in flashbacks that offer a glimpse into Beechwood’s past. She brings a sense of magic and wonder to the island—but also a little romantic chaos. Elegant beyond her years and impossible to ignore, Young Yardley looks like she’ll be one of the more intriguing characters to watch.
Brendon Tremblay shines as Jeremy “Major” Majorino, a laid-back New Yorker raised by free-spirited, hippie parents. He’s observant, funny, and endlessly entertained by the Sinclairs’ world of wealth and dysfunction. While everyone else is wrapped up in family drama, Major is just happy to be along for the ride—and let’s be honest, he’s got more than one reason for wanting to stick around.
Jaelynn Thora Brooks plays Erin Riegert, a school friend of the Sinclair sisters who is invited to spend the summer on Beechwood Island. On paper, it sounds like the perfect getaway—but with this family, paradise comes with plenty of baggage. Erin is deeply empathetic and incredibly perceptive, two qualities that should be strengths. Unfortunately, on an island full of secrets, they may be the very things that get her into trouble.
Callan Potter plays Gideon, the kind of guy who seems to have it all. He’s the charming tennis coach, an Ivy League golden boy, and someone who effortlessly fits into the Sinclair family’s elite world. Married women swoon over him, husbands happily pull up a chair at the poker table, and everyone seems to trust him.
Which probably means they shouldn’t.
Behind the polished smile and easy charm, Gideon doesn’t appear to have the best intentions. And honestly? That sounds like exactly the kind of character we’re going to love watching.
Aidan Shaw plays George Bryce-Amory, the heir to a wealthy Texas oil family with undeniable golden retriever energy. He has a big heart and is completely devoted to Yardley, making him instantly easy to root for. He’s not the most polished guy in the room, but he makes up for it with charm, confidence, and just the right amount of swagger. Equal parts lovable and entitled, George feels like the kind of character who will either completely win you over—or drive you absolutely crazy.

Shaun Sipos plays Dean, and honestly, a character named Dean never seems to bring good news. He walks into every room as the life of the party—confident, charismatic, and just cocky enough to get away with it. As Harris’ brother, Dean is the heir to generational wealth and an influential Democrat with his sights set on a Senate seat.
Of course, this is Beechwood, where everyone has secrets.
The difference is that Dean has a lot to lose when his inevitably comes to light. And if there’s one thing we know about secrets, it’s that they always find a way out.
With so many additions, we’re even more excited for the second season of We Were Liars. Need more info – soon. Please.
