At first glance, Finding Emily feels like a modern spin on classic romantic comedies like Serendipity. Finding Emily tells the story of a socially awkward musician named Owen, played by Spike Fearn, trying to find a girl named Emily who he instantly fell in love with on a night out at the club. When he realizes the phone number that she gave him was missing a digit, he turns to his school for help. Naturally, that leads him to a different Emily, played by Angourie Rice (Mean Girls). A psychology student who is struggling to prove that romantic attachments cause madness for a class experiment. Unexpected connection blossom between Owen and Emily when they partner up to help each other.
