There is this weird thing in my life – I can be having a moment where life is busy but Instagram seems to immediately serve me something that makes me slow down and take a breathe. After a busy day and opening the app for the first time – Tyler Hynes face was right there staring at me.
Ok, well it was a trailer that I hadn’t pressed play on, but I fell off my chair wondering how I had missed this for so many hours. Hallmark released the trailer for Hynes’ upcoming Countdown to Christmas movie, The Nights Before Christmas.
Christmas in July is giving us so much goodness.
Taking a sip of my water, I pressed play – greeted with something that felt fresh and new for Hallmark. Yes, it felt a little Groundhog Day, but that’s not a bad thing.
“I’m caught in a time loop,” Marty (Hynes) says as the thirty second trailer starts. To no surprise, Chloe (Chesapeake Shores alum Laci J Mailey) laughs. I mean who can blame her, it sounds like a joke. Only it’s not.
The films synopsis, “One Christmas Eve, Marty, whose life is in a bit of a rut, finds himself wishing he had more time. Thanks to some holiday magic, he awakes the next morning to discover it’s Christmas Eve — again. Confused at first, Marty learns to embrace his new normal. … But when Marty meets Chloe (Laci J Mailey), a newly out-of-work journalist having a bad day, he falls hard for her. The only problem is that when Christmas Eve morning comes once again, she doesn’t know who he is. “
And it continues, “As the Christmas Eves repeat themselves, Marty is on a mission to keep trying to win her over and, in the process, figure out what he needs to do to finally make his way to Christmas Day — hopefully, with Chloe by his side.”
I would like to point out that in watching this trailer, I noticed something. Costume departments have noticed and listened to fandom that Hynes can pull off like no other, a good cable knot cardigan with a shawl neckline. They delivered that greatness once again in this trailer.
“I’ve always just chalked it up to Christmas magic,” Marty says, hands thrown in the air in the trailer. I threw my hands in the air watching the trailer agreeing – I am chalking up seeing this trailer at the end of a busy week to Christmas in July magic. Thankful because this movie looks cute and you know I love some Hallmark Countdown to Christmas.
The Nights Before Christmas will premiere later this year on Hallmark Channel, during Countdown to Christmas.
