If you love Usopp from One Piece, you’re about to get more. And I mean all versions of Usopp. There’s the version coming to fans in the forms of Netflix’s new adaptation titled The One Piece. And then there’s the upcoming LEGO One Piece. That second one is going to be voiced by Jacob Romero, the same actor who plays Usopp in the Netflix live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s beloved manga.
Romero made an appearance at Anime NYC 2026 during a panel for the upcoming slate of animated works that Netflix has in store for the rest of 2026. They showed previews for Bass X Machina, Fool Night, and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. They even previewed what’s to come next for Blue Eye Samurai. But for fans of One Piece, Romero’s appearance was a special one.

To the chants of “Usopp! Usopp! Usopp!” Romero previewed what’s to come for this LEGO adventure. He said, “You are finally going to get the true story from the first two seasons. It’s all told through Usopp’s perspective. And he tells nothing but the truth.” He continued by joking, “So, everything we had to cut, you know, there were budget cuts. We couldn’t fit everything in the first season. But you’re going to get it in the LEGO version.”
With doing the LEGO version, a LEGO figure in Romero’s likeness had to be made. And if you have a great love for LEGO’s, like Romero seems to have, that’s enough to make anyone emotional. When asked about what it felt like having a LEGO made in his likeness for the series he said, “I definitely cried that day. You know, the One Piece world, the Straw Hat community is huge. It’s global. And as kids, so many of us play with LEGO’s.”

He went on to talk about the community and said, “One Piece is bigger than it’s ever been. The community is bigger. So, this collaboration is huge. It means everything to little Jacob. And now my little siblings play with LEGO’s. My neighbors play with LEGO’s. And all this stuff, it’s amazing. It just gets better and better.”
