Netflix’s adaptation of Dan Brown’s The Secret of Secrets is officially taking more and more shape! We finally have our first look at what the upcoming series going to look like and we love it! Also we have some new cast into the mix. Keep reading to know more!
Production is Underway in Prague
Here’s the BTS AKA the first look of the show!

There’s something fitting about The Secret of Secrets tv show beginning production in Prague. The city is an important part of the story, and from what we can see in the BTS photo, the production seems to be making the most of its setting. The scenery feels magic.
The photo also gives us our first real sense of the series itself, beyond the casting announcements we’ve already had. And while one BTS image can’t tell us everything, we really like what we’re seeing so far.
But if there’s one thing that stood out to us in that photo, it’s Rebecca Hall as Katherine Solomon.
She looks exactly like the Katherine Solomon we had pictured in our heads. There’s always a little bit of risk when a character we’ve imagined while reading a book is brought to life, because the version in our head is usually very specific. Somehow, though, this one works for us.
Morgan Spector also looks great as Robert Langdon, although there’s one small problem we can’t exactly blame on the actor: we have Tom Hanks’ version of Langdon way too deeply ingrained in our brains. After watching Hanks play Robert Langdon in The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons and Inferno, it’s difficult not to picture him.
So seeing Spector in the role feels… strange.
It’s one of those things that probably just needs some time. We’ve spent years associating Langdon with Hanks, so our brains are inevitably going to make that connection every time we see the character. That doesn’t mean Spector isn’t right for the part, or that we don’t like what we’re seeing. It’s simply going to take a little adjustment.
But we’re more than willing to let him change our minds. After all, this series gives The Secret of Secrets the opportunity to introduce a completely new version of Robert Langdon, one that doesn’t have to follow the movies’ interpretation of the character. If Spector can make the role his own, we’ll happily get to a point where Hanks isn’t the first person our minds summon when we think about Langdon.
Meet the New Cast of The Secret of Secrets
Netflix also revealed five new recurring cast members who will join the show. Mamadou Athie will play Michael Harris, while Ben Levi Ross has been cast as Alex Conan. Anamaria Marinca will portray Dr. Gessner, Richard Sammel will play Karl Muller and Elena Saurel will take on the role of Susan Housemore.
That gives us quite a cast to work with, and we’re especially curious to see how all these characters fit into Langdon’s latest mystery.
For now, though, we have Prague, a mystery thriller, a fascinating cast and our first glimpse at the world Netflix is building. And based on that first BTS photo, The Secret of Secrets is already looking like the kind of mystery we’ll want to get completely lost in.
The Secret of Secrets will premiere soon on Netflix.
