NCIS: Origins Season 3, Episode 3 ‘Return of the Mack’ is going to hit us in both storylines. But then again, this show has been pretty consistent from the beginning. If you’re a fan of the NCISverse, this is the show that regularly delivers gut punch after gut punch, a combination of nostalgia and good writing. This week is no exception.
Because yes, in the present timeline, we get a Gibbs and Tony reunion, one that makes a lot of sense with what’s going on in NCIS right now. As Director of NCIS, Tony is uniquely positioned to help Gibbs with the information he needs about whoever is hunting him down. In the past storyline, we get the return of young Ducky, and that’s just emotional all around, because we love the character and because the present version is no longer here.
Just saying, get some tissues ready. Prepare your NCIS knowledge. And remember, this is a short season of NCIS: Origins, so the mysteries have to be solved quickly. Who do you think is after Gibbs? Who else are they after? Smart money is on Lala, but is there another option?

Are There Any Pictures for ‘Return of the Mack’?
We get more pictures for the Gibbs and Tony reunion than I expected, but there’s also a fair bit about the case. What is it about this particular case that brings Ducky back? Inquiring minds want to know.

What’s the Synopsis for the Episode?
The synopsis released by CBS teases both the reunion between Tony and Gibbs and the return of Ducky to help the team. As I said, it’s going to be an episode for long-time fans of the franchise.
Michael Weatherly Guest Stars as NCIS Director Tony DiNozzo
Adam Campbell Returns as Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard
“Return of the Mack” – In the present, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) reunites with Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and enlists the new NCIS director’s help in identifying who shot him. In 1992, Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard (Adam Campbell) helps the team investigate when a young Marine is found murdered on a beach with suspicious markings all over his body, on NCIS: ORIGINS, Tuesday, Oct. 20 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming live on Paramount+ (Premium) and next day.

Is There a Promo For the Hour?
The promo focuses mainly on the Gibbs and Tony reunion, though there’s a glimpse of Ducky in there and Gibbs looking pretty fine in the past. Dare we ask? Even Lala looks impressed.
