Chicago Fire Season 15, Episode 3 ‘Take the Hit’ brings back Cruz as the show continues in the storyline that will write off Joe Miñoso for good. We’ve gotten some good news on the Cruz front: he’s alive, and his rehab seems to be going well, plus Severide made sure the blame for the warehouse fire wasn’t placed on him, so whatever happens, he gets to keep his pension. But knowing he’ll still be around for a couple more episodes means there’s more story to be told here.
Will Cruz be back on his feet by the time he’s written out? How can his storyline still intersect with the rest of the characters while he’s sidelined? Cruz won’t be written out until Episode 5, which is the show’s 300th episode, so we still have a bit to go.
This hour seems like it’ll focus on the probies, who right now we care very little about. That’s a problem unless the show finds a way to make us care, and pronto. Keeping it grounded in Stella’s work as a training officer would help. And please, let’s keep Vaquez out of it. We don’t need him fighting with anyone else.

Are there Any Pictures for ‘Take the Hit’?
Way too much of the probies here, but there’s also some Cruz and Stella’s truck at the call that probably sets off what we see in the trailer. Basically, there’s a lot of the episode that we’re not seeing in the released material, so we might be in for some surprises.

What’s the Synopsis for the Episode?
The information released by NBC talks about a mistake on the field, which, considering how bad the probies have been so far, points to one of them. Of course, that might just be too obvious. And the Herrmann part has to be Cruz-related, right? Right?
A mistake in the field lands a firefighter in the hospital; Herrmann looks to get one of their own back on track.
No Stella or Severide here, and not much in the pictures, either. Maybe it’s time for Severide to go do boss things? He is in the promo, so he will be in the episode, but he seems to be taking a step back.
Is There a Promo for the Hour?
There is, and it seems to focus on Stella trying to figure out which of the probies messed up. I wouldn’t put my hands on the fire for any of them, if I’m being honest.
