We’ll say it – streaming has made us better TV fans. Shows from all over the world are a click away now, and some of our favorites don’t come out of Hollywood. Case in point is Apple TV‘s German dark comedy Where’s Wanda? It’s chaotic, it’s twisty, and underneath all of it, it’s a story about a family that refuses to give up on each other.
We have an exclusive clip from this week’s episode, and we’re a little obsessed.
JUST WHEN THEY THOUGHT IT WAS OVER
The Klatts (Heike Makatsch, Axel Stein) got their daughter back. That should have been the happy ending. This show doesn’t really do those.
Season two premiered October 21, 2026, and it opens with Wanda (Lea Drinda) found standing over a dead body, apparently caught red-handed. She’s sent to prison, and her parents end up right back where they started: fighting to bring her home.
After losing her once, they aren’t going to let it happen again. So two very ordinary parents take on investigating a murder themselves, and the trail leads straight into the criminal underbelly of their sleepy suburban town. Is it a good idea? Absolutely not. Are we rooting for them anyway? Every time.
That’s the show’s secret. The danger is real and the jokes land, but it’s the love underneath that keeps us watching. These people would do anything for Wanda, even when anything is the worst possible choice. The real question is whether protecting her gets them out of trouble or pulls them in even deeper.
EPISODE 203: “WEDNESDAY”
Wednesday premieres Wednesday, November 4, on Apple TV.
Here’s the logline – Carlotta sets up a honey trap for the man with an eye patch, and she learns something she didn’t expect.
Honey trap, eye patch, and a surprise? Yes, please. What can we say, we’re simple people.

The eight-episode season is produced by UFA Fiction. It stars International Emmy nominee Heike Makatsch (Love Actually), German Comedy Award winner Axel Stein (The Vault), award-winning Lea Drinda (The Gryphon), Leo Simon, and Nikeata Thompson (Späti).

Why We’re Watching
Good TV works in any language, and Where’s Wanda? proves it. Under the murder and mayhem, it’s about a family that keeps showing up for each other, however messy it gets. Subtitles are nothing compared to that.
Watch our exclusive clip, catch Wednesday on Apple TV on November 4, and then come tell us your theories. What really happened that day?
