Demi Lovato’s Dancing With The Devil isn’t coming out until March, but it’s all that we can think about. We’re excited to hear her story from the people that lived it. But most of all, we’re excited to hear it from Demi.
Demi promoted her upcoming documentary at the Television Critics Association, and talked about the fact that her 2018 near fatal overdose left her with brain damage. It’s due to this that she can no longer drive a car.
“I don’t drive a car, because I have blind spots on my vision,” Demi shared. “I also, for a long time, had a really hard time reading… It was a big deal when I was able to read out of a book, which was like two months later, because my vision was so blurry.”
In the trailer for Dancing With The Devil, Demi had admitted that she had a heart attack and three strokes. Things were definitely a lot worse for her than any of us had thought.
For Demi, the setbacks and still present health issues remind her “of what could happen if I ever get into a dark place again.” And she expresses gratitude for that.
“Everything had to happen in order for me to learn the lessons that I learned,” she shared. “It was a painful journey, and I look back and sometimes I get sad when I think of the pain that I had to endure to overcome what I have, but I don’t regret anything.”
The four-part documentary premieres on YouTube March 23rd.
