DC TV brought all it’s stars to San Diego Comic-Con, and the Legends of Tomorrow panel was, as always, filled with petty faces, great news and a sizzle reel that has us counting the days till it premieres.
Let’s recap the five most important things we learned from the Legends of Tomorrow Panel at San Diego Comic-Con:
1. The Legion of Doom is coming, and in this particular case, it’s made up of: Reverse Flash, Damien Darhk and Malcolm Merlyn
A team of heroes deserves …well, a team of villains, is what Phil Klemmer had to say, and in this case, their team of heroes is made up of a few familiar faces. It’ll be interesting to see, in particular, how Sara deals with Damien Darhk, the man who killed her sister, even if it’s quite possible she’ll meet him before he even gets to do that. And, of course, there’s the fact that Malcolm Merlyn manipulated Thea into killing her.
Yes, Sara has a lot of issues, and we sort of hope she gets to some measure of revenge this season.
2. We haven’t seen the last of Captain Cold
Wentworth Miller signed a series regular contract among all Berlanti-verse shows, that’s expected to take him to Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash first, but could expand to Arrow and even Supergirl.
Does that mean he’s somehow going to find himself back among the living? Well, the answer to that seems to be no, but how are they going to use him on the other shows then? Well, we can probably blame (thank) Barry for that. He is, after all, the one who messed with the timeline.
3. The Justice Society of America is also coming
Patrick J. Adams was introduced in the Season 1 finale as Hourman, and Nick Zano, who was at the panel, will be playing Commander Steel, but that’s not all – Marc Guggenheim confirmed that we can also expect to see Obsidian (the son of Green Lantern), Dr Mid-Nite (a crime-fighting physician) and Stargirl this season.
And you thought there were a lot of heroes before.
4. We’ll see Oliver Queen in the season premiere
Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen is coming to Legends of Tomorrow, and we don’t have to wait long to see him, as he’ll be appearing in the season premiere. Amell has previously appeared on Legends of Tomorrow, both as present-day Oliver and an older version of him.
This time, though, we won’t be seeing him in Green Arrow garb, we’ll be seeing him in the official position of Mayor. Talk about a departure.
5. Sara might be getting a girlfriend – at least that’s what Caity Lotz wants
Sara’s a bit of a player, Lotz said, a bit of a Casanova, but it seems like she’s asked for her character to get a girlfriend this season. Now, with the rotating cast in Legends and with the team visiting many different places, unless that romance is with Vixen, and it doesn’t seem like it will be, any and all romantic entanglements that Sara ends up in are probably doomed to be momentary.
Legends of Tomorrow premieres Thursday October 13th on the CW.
