When we last left Caitlin Snow and Cisco Ramon in The Flash, they were both struggling with individual conflicts. While Cisco was left shocked at his best friend Barry’s sacrifice, Caitlin found herself wondering exactly who she was now that she wasn’t just Caitlin or just Killer Frost.
We spoke with The Flash stars Danielle Panabaker and Carlos Valdes at San Diego Comic-Con last month, where they teased what we can expect from their characters – and the effect of Barry’s absence – as we head into season 4.
Last season, we saw the origin story of Caitlin’s transition into Killer Frost. It was something Caitlin struggled with all season, and ultimately, it was a fight that she lost – only to find some middle ground by season’s end. In the season finale, Caitlin left to try and find out who she was now that wasn’t just Caitlin Snow or just Killer Frost. And ultimately, that’s something we’re going to have to wait to see.
“Those who love Caitlin Snow will not be disappointed,” Panabaker said. “And those that love Killer Frost will not be disappointed.”

When we begin season 4, six months have passed since Barry’s disappearance, and that absence has ultimately affected the team as things just haven’t been the same. So, as you might expect, we’re going to find Cisco doing whatever it takes to get things back to the way they used to be.
“There is a unanimous feeling among the remaining members of the team that it is just not the same without Barry,” Valdes said. “We cannot keep the villains at bay with the same efficiency that we used to. So, in light of that, Cisco does whatever it takes to get his friends back.”
