No, but seriously Disney, take our money. Give us Disney+ now. We’ll pay for it. Especially after this news.
Pedro Pascal is set to star in ‘The Mandalorian,’ a series penned by Jon Favreau and planned exclusively for the new Disney streaming service. The show will be set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order, and it will follows the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic.
Dave Filoni will direct the first episode of the series. Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow will direct additional episodes.
Okay, now that the info is out there, it’s time for the fangirl freakout. PEDRO PASCAL! THIS PEDRO PASCAL.
Most of you will probably know Pascal from his turn as Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones, or his appearance on the Netflix show Narcos. Pascal is also set to appear in Wonder Woman 1984, set for release next year.
And, now, of course, there’s this!
*excited squeal*
Not only do we love Pascal around here, this marks a serious push by Star Wars to make a galaxy far, far away, more diverse, and you know we’re all for that. So bring it, Disney. Keep giving us content like this. We’re in for the ride.
