All good things come to those who wait and apparently everything gets taken away from us too.
I wanted one thing. I asked for one thing. I just wanted Lizzie McGuire.
When the reboot was announced I became like a kid in a candy store. Overly excited, thrilled at the possibilities, and thankful. Yes, I was thankful as fuck.
But 2020 is being an asshole and Lizzie McGuire is now delayed.
“Fans have a sentimental attachment to Lizzie McGuire and high expectations for a new series,” a Disney spokesperson said to TVLine. “After filming two episodes, we concluded that we need to move in a different creative direction and are putting a new lens on the series.”
Sure, I will admit, I have some really high expectations. But I didn’t expect that this would happen. Original series creator Terri Minsky has stepped down as showrunner on the Disney+ project, which has halted production.
Two episodes have been filmed.
We’re excited for Lizzie, so yes, I am taking this a little harshly.
But I do want Lizzie to be perfect and so therefore I am going be patient. Or you know what, fake that I am.
