VIDA season 3 is almost upon us and the Latina in me is more than a little excited. That girl is ECSTATIC! So, here’s what we know so far. Season 4 will be airing 6 episodes week-to-week on Starz and was written by an all Latinx writers room and directed by Latina Directors Jenee LaMarque and Tanya Saracho. And even though week-to-week saddens us, because we’re all about binging here at Fangirlish, it’s nice to know that week after week more people will get a chance to get to know this show and fall in love with it like we have. Additionally, VIDA will be available via STARZPLAY across Europe and Latin America.
On the Emma and Lyn front, the Latinx leads of VIDA, these two sisters are riding on the heels of success. The bar is turning out to be a bigger success than expected and they’re determined to make VIDA the Latinx place to hang out, have fun, and get to know other people in their community. But that doesn’t mean things will be easy. Season 3 is going to have ghosts from the past, new enemies, and the same group of Latinos who think these two don’t belong because they are coconuts aka brown on the outside but white on the inside.
VIDA stars Melissa Barrera as Lyn Hernandez, Mishel Prada as Emma Hernandez, Ser Anzoategui as Eddy, Chelsea Rendon as Marisol, Carlos Miranda as Johnny, and Roberta Colindrez as Nico. We’re particularly interested in the continued appearance of Nico as her love story with Emma is fresh, fun, and something that has opened up this Hernandez sister to new experiences and possibilities. Plus queer Latinx relationships are *chefs kiss.*
