If you watched Anime like I did as a child you will probably remember a few couples here and there that marked your youth and made you fantasies about love!
Or maybe I’m just the only one? But either way, today I’m sharing with you what I believe to be the best 6 Anime couples of all time.
1. Kagome & Inuyasha (Inuyasha)

This one is one of the most interesting love stories in my opinion.
Kagome is actually the reincarnation of a powerful priestess named Kikyo, who is Inuyasha’s first love. Originally, when Inuyasha and Kagome first met each other, Inuyasha immediately disliked Kagome as she reminded him of Kikyo due to their similar physical appearances.
Inuyasha and Kagome soon find themselves developing romantic feelings for each other and eventually come to realize they have fallen in love. When confronted with their true feelings, they both deny their feelings out of stubbornness or nervousness.
While Inuyasha is fully aware of his love for Kagome, he also comes to realize that he is still in love with Kikyo, causing great difficulty as he can’t choose between them. Due to this, Inuyasha and Kagome don’t have an official relationship together, but are still somewhat romantically together.
Talk about a complicated romantic plot!
2.Tohru & Kyo (Fruits Basket)

The first time Tohru meets Kyo is when she finds out about the Sohma curse, when he crashed through Shigure’s roof. At first Kyo seems to hate Tohru and shouts at her when she accidentally transforms him at school.
As the story progresses, Kyo and Tohru become nervous and anxious around each other. Throughout the series, Kyo’s strong affection for Tohru is quite obvious as he is overprotective around her and stutters when Momiji mentions that they should be together.
Tohru also has romantic feelings for him and even though we don’t see this happen in the anime show, they eventually do end up together and even married with two children! This is the happy ending we needed!
3.Kaoru & Kenshin (Samurai X)

She and Kenshin share a relationship that serves one of the largest focal points of the series. She was sometimes rescued from death, dishonor and loneliness. Even though at first, Kenshin sees Kaoru as equally important to any other person, she develops feelings for Kenshin.
In time, the two fall in love with each other. She eventually recognizes that Kenshin has had a violent past and accepts it. At the end of the series, she and Kenshin got married and have a son named Kenji.
4.Goku & Chi-chi (Dragon Ball)

Dragon Ball is full of memorable anime couples, but none of them are more notable than Goku and Chi-chi. They definitely compliment each other. Goku’s naivety and recklessness are staples of who he is as a character, but sometimes that can get him into a lot of trouble. Luckily, he has Chi-Chi. She is the voice of reason, steering him away from getting anyone hurt.
But as much as she tries, he still finds a way to get into a lot of fights! The cute thing about them is the backstory of their relationship. Goku basically promises, without knowing, to marry her because he thinks that a bride is a type of food.
5.Taki & Mitsuha (Your name)

Your Name focuses on two characters and their intimate, although not sexual, relationship they have with one another. Taki, a teenage boy from Tokyo, and Mitsuha, a teenage girl from rural Japan, wake up one day to discover they have switched bodies.
It’s because of these circumstances that the two develop a friendship, which then blossoms into romantic feelings. Everything seems like it might work out for these lovestruck teens stuck in a weird, fantastical predicament.
Except they never “meet.” They never get to really hold each other. They’re bound to this faint memory of an intense emotion they shared with each other, but they can’t remember the other person’s name as time goes on.
At the end of the movie, however, Taki and Mitsuha do end up finding each other. Their memories are returned and, as they embrace, they cry. It’s not from finally finding each other or realizing they can be with the person they love, it’s an emotional release.
6.Krillin & Android 18 (Dragon Ball)

I wanted to finish the list of anime couples with this cute and very underrated couple. Their relationship is a peculiar one because of how it came to be and the backstory just makes it a lot more interesting.
But what I like about this couple is that they are more of a relaxed, sweet, and legit relationship. They have an actual family and I guess you could say their relationship is one of the healthiest ones we see in anime.
Do you have a favorite anime couple that didn’t make it to the list? Let us know about it in the comments!
