One of the things that I respect the most about Florence Pugh is her bluntness, and her ability to just tell things as they are.
I love her acting – I think that she’s a phenomenal actress. And her Instagram Story cooking shows are so much fun. Granted, half the shit that she makes I wouldn’t eat, but then again I don’t like tuna and she likes to put that in almost everything.
The actress, though, spends a lot of time doing something she shouldn’t have to do. What is that? Correcting people on their want to comment on her personal life.
“I have the right to hang out and be with and go out with anyone I want to. I’ve always found this part of what people do really bizarre. I’m an actor because I like acting and I don’t mind people watching my stuff, but people have no right to educate me on my private life,” she said of her relationship with Zac Braff when talking to Elle UK for their June 2020 issue.
“I know that part of being in the spotlight is that people might invade your privacy and have opinions on it, but it’s bizarre that normal folk are allowed to display such hate and opinions on a part of my life that I’m not putting out there. It’s a strange side of fame that you’re allowed to be torn apart by thousands of people even though you didn’t put that piece of you out there. My point to all this is that isn’t it odd that a stranger can totally tear apart someone’s relationship and it’s allowed?”
It is odd, we agree Florence. Date and love who you want to. We’re more interested in what movie you are in next.
Elle UK is on newsstands now.
