I would like to say I am upset about this, but I’d be lying. The truth is, I think that this is a smart choice, because if there is a movie that I want to see in theaters it’s Mulan.
Mulan was originally supposed to be released in March, but was pushed back due to the coronavirus. The movie was delayed until July 24th but now the date has been changed again.
And hey – we’re not shocked, because with the uptick in coronavirus numbers everything should change. People should be keeping their ass at home.
Mulan is now scheduled to hit theaters on August 21 and if the way of the world keeps going the way it is – we wouldn’t be shocked if that changed too.
“While the pandemic has changed our release plans for Mulan and we will continue to be flexible as conditions require, it has not changed our belief in the power of this film and its message of hope and perseverance. Director Niki Caro and our cast and crew have created a beautiful, epic, and moving film that is everything the cinematic experience should be, and that’s where we believe it belongs – on the world stage and the big screen for audiences around the globe to enjoy together,” said Alan Horn, Co-Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, and Alan Bergman, Co-Chairman, The Walt Disney Studios.
August it is.
Are you looking forward to Mulan? What are your thoughts?
