21 Upstead gifs that have us counting the days until ‘Chicago P.D.’ season 8

Like many of you, I’ve been counting down the days until Chicago P.D.’s eighth season. And during the COVID-19 pandemic, it seemed like we would never get close to that moment. At least not until next year. But alas, Chicago P.D. will in fact be returning in 2020, which means that we’re about to get a helluva lot more Upstead content.

And, in case you haven’t heard, season 8 sounds like it’s going to be Upstead’s year.

“There are lots of conversations about taking Upton and Halstead’s relationship to the next level,” Chicago P.D. showrunner Rick Eid said back in April. “I’m pretty sure we’ll see that happen in some form or fashion next season.”

While the wait seemed almost unbearable back in April, we’re now just a few months away from seeing exactly what happens between Upstead in season 8 of Chicago P.D.

So — just because — here are 21 Upstead gifs that we can’t stop staring out as we think about what’s in store for one of our favorite ships.

They would follow each other anywhere.

The way they look at each other.

I mean…

Jay would never let anything happen to Hailey.

The way Hailey rushes to Jay’s side.

Hailey has trusted Jay since the moment she met him.

The way “for us” carries a different meaning than just partners.

They can’t live without each other.

Jay always has an eye on Hailey.

Like, he’s always checking on her.

And Hailey does the same for Jay.

Could they be any cuter?

They just look really effing hot here. And it’s the dead of winter.

The way Jay is hyper aware of the fact that Hailey’s hand is on his shoulder.

I mean, is this married or what?

Did I mention they’re hot?

The small smiles.

Of course they love each other.

Chicago P.D. returns for season 8 on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 10/9c.
