You never know . It’s times like this — where Chadwick Boseman lost his battle with colon cancer — to make you realize just how precious life is. You never really know how much time you’ve got.
Ever since I watched Chadwick as Vontae Mack in Draft Day, there was something about him that stood out. Even though it was a small role, you could see that he was putting forth every ounce of himself into this character. His role as Jackie Robinson in 42 was when I became a Chadwick Boseman fan. The way that he threw all of himself into this character — an iconic Black athlete that had a profound impact on the world, much like Chadwick has had with his roles — left me breathless.
Then, obviously, there was Boseman’s iconic role as King T’Challa in Black Panther, which forever changed the entertainment industry. There was something so special about Boseman. And knowing that he played some iconic roles going through chemotherapy and fighting cancer, it just makes it even more incredibly impressive.
Marvel shared a Chadwick Boseman tribute video, which featured his time working on the iconic Black Panther film. His co-stars and producers shared warm memories and praise watching Chadwick at work. And you’ll be hard-pressed to not find yourself fighting back tears in this celebration of his time as King T’Challa.
Rest in power, Chadwick.
