I know that people are split over Kristen Stewart taking on the role of Princess Diana, but I for one am excited. I think that Kristen is one of the most underrated actors of our time, because people choose to always go straight to Twilight when talking about her.
But the truth is, Kristen is versatile. She’s got range that most actors don’t have. That doesn’t mean that she isn’t nervous about roles.
Especially taking on the role of Diana.
In a new interview with InStyle, Kristen shared that she hasn’t been “this excited about playing a part, by the way, in so long.”
The actress is doing her research to take on such an iconic part. The actress talked about how she is preparing for the part.
“In terms of research, I’ve gotten through two and a half biographies, and I’m finishing all the material before I actually go make the movie,” she says. “It’s one of the saddest stories to exist ever, and I don’t want to just play Diana – I want to know her implicitly.”
We admire her commitment to the part and that gives us so much more faith in how this will turn out.
But that being said, there are things to be nervous about – especially knowing that the world will scrutinize everything that she does. Kristen admitted to the magazine that she is nervous about mastering Diana’s accent.
“The accent is intimidating as all hell because people know that voice, and it’s so, so distinct and particular,” she shared. “I’m working on it now and already have my dialect coach.”
