Fangirlish Countdown To Christmas: ‘Christmas At Pemberly Manor’

There are so many things I love about Christmas movies, but very few Christmas movies encompass everything that I love. Christmas At Pemberly Manor – for some reason – is one of my favorite Hallmark movies, and one that I always stop and watch.

As Christmas approaches; a New York event planner is sent to a small town to organize a holiday festival. When she arrives, she finds a high-profile billionaire, who lacks holiday spirit, in the process of selling the charming estate she hoped to use as a venue. Before long, the unlikely pair begins falling for each other.

It’s a charming story of the rich man who heads home and finds the meaning of Christmas and roots. It’s a beautiful story.

THERE IS ALWAYS THAT ONE PLACE

William Darcy is a good man whose life is built around working. He’s a billionaire and unlike the stereotypical billionaire, he has a heart of gold. He’s a little closed off, doesn’t trust people and doesn’t think that anyone is in things for the right reasons.

He’s got to go home to his childhood place to get it ready for sale. He expected to be in and out of the town. Just a few days – it was just supposed to be a few days.

I think that Mr. Darcy didn’t want to become entangled with anything, because even though memories are a good thing and keep you going, memories are sometimes the thing that you can’t let go of, even when you must.

There is always that one place that makes everything make sense and where the walls can come down.

There is always that one place that is home.

THERE IS ALWAYS THAT ONE PERSON

You can always have walls up, but the thing is there is always one person that finds a way in through a door that no one knew was left open.

With Elizabeth and Darcy they both had walls up in their own way. Elizabeth is spending her life trying to move up in her company, even though her boss doesn’t see her potential. She’s working for a boss that doesn’t see her, doesn’t see the strength. But William does.

William thinks his life needs to be all about work and doing everything that he can to advance Darcy Enterprises. He sees his life all about work until he agrees to let the town Christmas Festival happen at Pemberly Manor. With Elizabeth – a headstrong woman who wants to do everything right and make everyone happy.

She is not impressed by his wealth, but is impressed by his heart. There is always that one person that will see through your walls and see you as home.

THERE IS ALWAYS THAT ONE MOMENT

For Elizabeth and Darcy there are several moments that make up the road to finding their way to each other. For these two it’s spending time putting together the festival that brings them to each other.

All of these moments bring them to see the side of each other that no one else can see. For them it’s these moments that they see the beauty in each other and yet, what’s so hard to watch is that they do not see that within themselves.

These two have such tension that it brings a smile to your face to watch. And that’s okay. Because seeing these two come together is something that you are in for the slow burn and can’t wait to watch.

THERE IS ALWAYS DETERMINATION

Elizabeth has a million things to overcome. Her boss is mad that she has worked with Darcy and comes to take over everything. She’s worried about how it reflects on her company.

Darcy tries to tell Elizabeth that he will talk to her boss, but Elizabeth tells him it’s fine. There is a line drawn between them, even though these two are definitely in love with each other. They think that they are doing the best for each other by staying away from each other.

And then when they think that they are best without each other. And when William goes to leave, they shut down the festival and Elizabeth is heart broken.

So she tries to put it back in place. And succeeds.

THERE ARE ALWAYS CHRISTMAS WISHES

William and Elizabeth have everyone rooting for them. They just need to find their way back to each other. And so with a little help from their friends they are going to be able to do just that.

The festival is what they needed to find that life is more than just about work. Life is more than just about the things that can’t happen and more about the things they will.

Christmas at Pemberly Manor is a cute movie filled with love and heart. It will make you feel all the joy.
