What we love about FBI is that there is rarely a dull moment and each episode has an intriguing crime filled episode. “Liar’s Poker” is no different in that regard.
THE JIST
A known Cartel boss,Vargas, that is wanted for the murder of an FBI agent 7 years previously, shows up in New York. Vargas and his driver get pulled over by NYPD, for having a tail light out on their car. When the NYPD Officer recognizes Vargas, the driver kills him. The FBI team is led on a quick chase to a warehouse where they arrest Vargas, but not without incident. There is explosives on scene and they are tripped by the SWAT Team. Thankfully, no one is killed in the blast.
When Vargas is brought into the Federal building, one of his Cartel minions puts a bomb on another FBI agent and she is forced to go into the building. Vargas makes an ultimatum, he is set free or the bomb is set off. In conclusion, the team kicks ass and takes names.
What we really loved about this episode is seeing another side of Castille. We don’t often get to see her outside of her being the boss, but this episode she was on a war path to save an innocent agent no matter the cost. She stood up to the Director and told him if he wasn’t behind her than to get out of her way.
Now, let’s get to Scola. He is the one risking his life, besides Castille, staying in the building with the FBI agent that has a bomb around her neck. That is above and beyond the call of duty. We need more people like that in the world that are unselfish and just want to help.
