We’re not sure how we’re feeling about this show yet, because the promo for it has been …eh, almost nonexistent, which is strange considering this is sure to be the one show the CW wants to promote. Oh, and yes, there are those troubling reports about misogyny and racism on set. Not at all what you want to hear before a show even premieres.
Then, of course, there’s the narrative. Like Superman is the only superhero that matters. Which, of course, isn’t true. The CW has been successful on the back of “lesser” superheroes, and Supergirl has been a role model for many, for years. But, that’s the way it goes sometimes, at least in the comment section.
And, okay, we really did hope the first footage they released would clarify our feelings, at least somewhat. But it just …didn’t.
This is meant to be visually stunning, and yet it feels a little bland. You can talk about all these ideals, but wouldn’t the show have been better served by actually showing us some scenes over this voiceover?
Either way, here’s the promo for the show, which is set to premiere Tuesday, February 23rd. Do you like it? Do you hate it? What are you expecting from Superman & Lois?
