Here’s the thing about Los Angeles. It’s like this place of constant change, constant strife, and constant chaos. But then again, I think that can be said for anywhere you go. Los Angeles is just that way, because it’s on such a big scale that everything feels so dramatic.
And for the people in the coterie, the drama is like a bad television show. But Good Trouble isn’t great television, so the bad television type drama fits.
We’re picking up right where we left off. The entire group living there doesn’t know what they are doing, they are figuring out life, and they all seem to be leading with their penis or vagina. And like, that’s normal, but also meh.
So where is everyone? Well, lets break it down.

MARIANA
I have always wanted to like Mariana, because I believe that she has a good heart. She’s just so not sure where she stands in life – EVER. And for such a smart girl, she’s kind of an idiot in the relationship department.
The thing I do like about Mariana is that she’s never afraid to push the envelope. She lives to push the envelope. And so when she thinks that Raj (her boyfriend) has cheated on her, she goes and gives in to feelings that she has been having and sleeps with her boss.
I like Evan and Mariana together. I like it because she isn’t backing down all the time like she does with Raj. She stands up for herself and he wants her to be strong. I don’t feel like Raj wants that for her.
Isabella and Raj having feelings for each other, but I think that Isabella is like single white female and she’s got some fucking issues. She tries to make everyone think that she’s so innocent, but she’s not.
And the fact that she’s tried to make Mariana uncomfortable and not move out makes me want to slap her silly. Sure, Mariana would be all up in her mixed feelings regardless and I get that. But I also think that this may be exactly what Mariana needed to push her to changing her life.
It’s Davia that gets Isabella to move out. Her telling Isabella that she has to go was the best thing that she has done.
How does this all tie together? Well, it’s because of all of the instances that Isabella set in motion that enabled Raj and Mariana to figure out that they love each other and they want to be together, but they shouldn’t be. Why? Because as much as they want to be together they don’t know if they want to cheat on each other and that makes for a very complicated situation.
I think that it’s for the best that Raj and Mariana broke up. She honestly needs to just have dick on the side and concentrate on work. She’s proven that dick is just too distracting for her and she doesn’t know how to overlook her hormones and concentrate.
Do I think he telling Evan that them being together is a bad idea but that they should try it on the down low was a good idea? No. I don’t. But that shit is going to crash and burn and well, we’ll all watch that go up in flames.
Thank you ahead of time for the upcoming drama.
DAVIA AND DENNIS
Dennis has a lot of issues and he’s not in a space to be in a relationship. I think we can all agree with that. Davia isn’t in a headspace to be in a relationship. I think that the two of them are drawn to each other because they both are falling apart and need help.
And that’s okay.
After sleeping together I think that the two of them found comfort because they genuinely have feelings for each other. But the thing is that even though they love/like each other, it doesn’t mean that it’s a healthy situation for the two of them.
They make a date for that night and Davia is very excited. And I am excited for her. But what breaks is that he stands her up. And he makes her worry that he’s going to do something to himself.
I want Dennis to get the help that he needs. And when Davia finally tracks him down and he tells her what is wrong, I really felt for him. He realizes that he’s spent all this time trying to find a way around what has happened to him and his family, but that’s enabled him to stay away from the reality of it. He has to face the pain. He has to find a way through.
And I think that it was a good moment for him, but I do think that it will catapult Davia into destructive behavior and that worries me.
I am worried for her, but happy that Dennis has realized he needs help.

MALIKA
Malika is one strong character. She’s this strong, fierce, independent woman. She’s had the worst of life happen to her, but she’s always found a way through. She’s a survivor.
Malika believes in her causes, sticks to her values, and fights for what is right. What I am infuriated about is that she is being put in jail.
Yes, Malika violated a restraining order. I understand that. But I also understand that the judge doesn’t want to press charges. However, the city calling her association with the BLM movement making her a flight risk? Fuck you LA.
Malika’s bail wasn’t revoked, but it was raised to a point where she couldn’t pay. And that is a huge fucking problem. She deserves better. And she deserves more than what she has gotten.
I know that Malika has the “I can handle it” attitude, but the reality is that she has so many people that she can lean on. And she deserves to have all these people in her life. She doesn’t deserve what she’s getting.
And that breaks my heart. She is a great person, filled with love. And she’s getting a shitty break because of the color of her skin.
I think it’s an important conversation that Good Trouble is having and I think that it’s good that they are willing to tackle it head on.

CALLIE
If there is anyone that I worry about more in this show than Callie? Nope. Why? Because she’s always making decisions by the seat of her ass and not always thinking things through.
What I love about Callie is that she has the best of heart and wants to be a good person, because she wants no one to suffer the way she has. And that’s a sign of strength. Callie is strong, but Callie comes across as timid.
And she’s not.
Callie finds out that her office is being moved due to budgetary issues. A big time lawyer is taking over the space, as she starts her own firm. As Callie is hearing the news, she receives a phone call that she needs to be a witness in Jared’s trial. But Callie is confused – she didn’t press charges.
But Jamie did.
Now I get why Jamie is angry. The woman he loved found confidential information and made his firm lose a client when she leaked it. Callie and Jamie may not belong together but it feels like he’s doing this to punish Callie. He claims that he’s pressing charges because Jared came back and was acting erratic.
When Callie goes to visit Jared in jail, she finds that he’s been beaten. Jared says that the guards wouldn’t give him his medication and sprayed stuff in his eyes and started beating him. He says that he fought back and now the guards are saying he hit first. Callie believes Jared and she wants to help him. So she takes some pics of his bruises and goes to the lady who is taking over the firms space.
Cathleen Gale, is a high powered attorney who wants to do good. She tells Callie that the case isn’t a winnable one. But Callie convinces her to take it on. Cathleen has one condition, Callie quit working for the legal aid and comes to work for her.
Callie knows that she’s in a position that she wants to put in the effort and work and help people. And I admire that.
I appreciate that.
Callie heads back to the coterie and the gang celebrates. Callie has passed the bar and she’s now got a new job.
Things may be looking up, for Callie at least.

OTHER THOUGHTS
- The fact that Isabella and Gael slept together makes me ill. I am calling it now – she will come back and say she’s pregnant.
- Gael covering up Jacob’s face – I know Dennis asked for it, but he wasn’t ready for it.
- Davia really needs to see her own self worth.
- Why do I like Evan so much when I find him so annoying? Cause he’s better than Raj? Sorry, don’t like Raj, cause I feel like he always tries to put Mariana down.
- Jamie is a hypocrite. I said what I said and I stand by it.
- Alice is a good person, but people need to stop taking advantage of the kindness.
- Callie passing the bar is exciting! I am glad that she’s finally got good shit happening.
- I don’t think it’s the end of Jamie and Callie, but I hope it is. I want her with Gael.
- Jamie is still scum.
