Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup will be played by Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron and Yana Perreault. Donald Faison, who is set to portray Professor Drake Utonium. And now Nicholas Podany has been added to the cast as Mojo Jojo Jr.
His character is described as, “nerdy, power-hungry, insecure Joseph “Jojo” Mondel Jr. was obsessed with the original crime-fighting trio of supergirls, despite his father’s grudge against them. As an adult, Jojo finds his sweetness and rage constant battle. “
In the animated series, Mojo Jojo was the super-powered trio’s main adversary.
The show will center around Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup who are now twenty somethings who resent the loss of their childhood to crime fighting. Are the going to reunite? Will they stay pissed and apart? Who knows. But we do know that the world needs them now more than ever.
Powerpuff is written by Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier. Cody and Regnier executive produce with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, David Madden and Maggie Kiley. Maggie will also be directing the pilot.
