Yes, we’re talking a lot about Powerpuff and we have no regrets over that. We’re excited for the possibility of the series being picked up.
And we’re excited for all the additions to the cast. The latest? Robyn Lively is set to play Sara Bellum and Tom Kenny will reprise his role as the Narrator.
Lively’s character of Sara Bellum has a great relationship with the Powerpuff Girls and has remained close with them. She’s a career woman and used to have a relationship with Professor Drake Utonium.
Kenny was the original narrator of the 1998 cartoon and 2016 cartoon revival as the voice of the Narrator. He also voiced several characters during the cartoon run.
The show will center around Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup who are now twenty somethings who resent the loss of their childhood to crime fighting. Are the going to reunite? Will they stay pissed and apart? Who knows. But we do know that the world needs them now more than ever.
Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup will be played by Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron and Yana Perreault. Donald Faison, who is set to portray Professor Drake Utonium and Nicholas Podany will star as Mojo Jojo Jr.
Powerpuff is written by Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier. Cody and Regnier executive produce with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, David Madden and Maggie Kiley. Maggie will also be directing the pilot.
