FBI 3×10 “Checks and Balances” is the first episode after a three-week hiatus for. Finally. And after this episode, we have another break for two weeks before FBI is back with new episodes on April 20th.

On FBI 3×10 “Checks and Balances,” the team must track down two assailants who wear animal masks while committing armed robberies, with the latest leaving an off-duty 26 Fed security guard dead. Also, Tiffany and Scola butt heads on whether or not to accept the local NYPD’s offer to help in the investigation.
Scola, Maggie, OA and the rest of the team are upset about Howard that was killed in the robbery as he worked at 26 Fed. I can’t imagine how hard that would be to work on this case, but they also have a determination to solve it. I do agree with Tiffany that they should be using the NYPD’s help. After all, they have been on the case longer and know more. Scola should realize that the resources the FBI has, combined with NYPD will only be an asset and not a hindrance. Minus, the one NYPD officer who fired a shot when Scola was in his line of sight.

Then it had to be a bit of a letdown to realize that the two apparent suspects that were guilty of the other robberies, were innocent in this case specifically. The team is on a bit of a chase as they race to get justice for their friend’s murder and tensions are clearly high.
After that the bombshell drops that who bought the copycat mask was NYPD officer Palmer, the new partner of Dixon that Tiffany worked with. Scollace is divided on who is responsible. Tiffany is saying they don’t know the whole story and Wallace is quick to jump on board that he is guilty. I tend to side with Tiffany because you need to find the evidence not just because you think he is guilty. Wallace is too quick to judge that they are guilty.

Regardless of who is responsible for what in “Checks and Balances” this is another major test for the Scollace partnership. Tiffany and Wallace needed the time to work out the kinks in their partnership, lets not forget she is new to the team. It’s also a nice refresher to have the focus on them instead of ZiBell this week. I know I said that, you know I love Maggie and OA, but the others also deserve their time to shine.
Scollace needs to learn to trust each other and have the others back. That takes time to develop, it doesn’t happen overnight. Just like any other relationship, it takes work, disagreements and compromises. But they will get there.
