I was not a fan of How I Met Your Mother. It was long and drawn out and it felt like it could have ended seasons earlier than it did.
But I do admit that I am interested in How I Met Your Father, and that’s for one reason only – Hilary Duff.
I loved her in Younger, was saddened by the Lizzie McGuire reboot not making it and have been looking forward to seeing what she does next. And even if it’s How I Met Your Father, I am all in.
As we all know the spin off is set to run on Hulu, but why did Duff choose to take on the role?
In a new interview with Variety, she did joke and say that she was ready “a job that shoots in L.A!”
But is that the reason? Cause I don’t know many people that actually want to stay in Los Angeles.
The spin-off tells the story of, “Sophie, who is telling her son the story of how she met his father, much like Josh Radnor (and Bob Saget’s) Ted Mosby did in the original series. The story starts in 2021 where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.”
So again, why did Duff take on the role?
“I knew I had to be the one to bring Sophie to life and share the female POV to this legendary show,” she said.
Will you watch How I Met Your Father? What do you think of the idea of the spin-off?
