Listen up, HBO has released the first images from the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon. I know we are all a little bit wary of another Thrones spinoff after the disastrous season 8 series finale and with good reason. We all deeply loved Game of Thrones and the ending wasn’t suited to the rest of the series.
However, there is a difference to House of the Dragon. D&D isn’t a part of the project, which gives me an immediate upswing of positive feelings towards the show. It won’t be Game of Thrones; it could be something much greater. I’m willing to go out on a limb for HBO and give House of the Dragon a chance.
Now, to the fun things! We have pictures and they look so good. I’m already intrigued with what stories are going to be told. We get our first look at Olivia Cooke who is cast as Alicent Hightower, Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon “The Sea Snake”, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen.

House of the Dragon is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, the series, which is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen. The show recently began production and will debut on HBO and be available to stream on HBO Max in 2022.
