Part of me misses Quibi, if we’re being honest. I think I loved it because I was always on the go and I felt like it was just easy to watch. But the part of it that I hated was that there were so many things that felt like filler episodes.
And I hate a filler episode.
But I do think that a short form talk show would have worked. I know that the world is into podcasts right now (I am about to dive into the latest episode of Drama Queens OTH today), but I also believe that people still love to see a celebrities face.
Demi Lovato was set to have a short form talk show on Quibi, but with the demise of the streaming service, I thought it was over. However, The Demi Lovato Show will premiere on Friday, July 30, on the Roku Channel.
And suddenly I am thankful for my smart TV.
“Some conversations can be difficult, but I’ve never been one to shy away from speaking candidly about things,” Lovato said after the announcement. “We wanted to create a space that normalizes living your own truth – where people can speak, engage and more importantly, learn, together. There’s something therapeutic about having raw discussions that people can relate to and with The Demi Lovato Show no topics are off limits and opinions are welcome. I’m so excited for people to see how these conversations unfold on the Roku Channel.”
That is one of the things that we love about them. They are never afraid to keep talk about anything. The Demi Lovato Show will have topics including activism, feminism, gender identity, sex and body positivity, mental health and even UFOs.
Jameela Jamil, Lucy Hale, Nikita Dragun and experts in various fields are some of the guests that are due to appear on the show. We can’t wait to see it and learn from all the topics that are discussed.
